Urban neighbourhoods are the building blocks of the city — but they are complex to define and incorporate. How do we know where one neighbourhood starts and another begins?
Hyperlocal proposes a concept of personalised urban areas tied to individual experience: home, workplace, social connections, and frequented locations. Together these create a user-generated city — a map of the city as you actually live it, not as planners drew it.
How it Works
The platform collects location data to visualise and provide insight into personal urban interaction patterns. Two operational modes:
Individual mode — your personal city footprint, visualised over time. Understand how your relationship with your neighbourhood evolves.
Research mode — aggregate and anonymised data for urban researchers and planners, offering a participatory layer of lived-experience data alongside traditional datasets.
